The Blackhawk Chapter of ACBS sponsored a Winter
Tech Session on staining, scarfing and transmissions Saturday,
January 19th, starting at 9:00 am. It was held at Harrison Woodworking
in Wilmont, WI. Dean Morris, Harrison Woodworking
owner, demonstrated his scarfing techniques for joining long boards
together, and basic staining techniques. Ted Cartner
discussed Chris Craft Transmissions. He gave the how to’s
of adjusting clutches, replacing seals and stopping annoying oil
leaks. He is considered one of the top “go-to-men” on
engines. For a very cold below zero day, the event was well attended.
Among the 35 plus people in attendance, Howard Schneider,
Frank Petran, Ken Bourgeois, David Doyle and Wil Vidal
made the trip from the Milwaukee area. Coffee, snacks, and a small
lunch was provided by Blackhawk. Many thanks to Blackhawk for hosting
this successful event. |
