Information -
On Nov. 16,1954 this “Holiday” was shipped
from the Cadillac, MI Chris Craft plant to Sturgeon Bay, WI. This
is hull #2 of 153, 20’ Holiday’s built from 1955
to 1957. In 1955 the Holiday model was down graded to Chris Craft’s
basic utility with the introduction of the elegant “Continental”
series using the same hulls. In 1955 the retail price of this
boat with the largest engine option of MBL 158HP was $4,080, or
double the cost of a new Chevy.
Sometime in the late 1960’s this Holiday came to the Madison
area. On Nov. 3, 2002 we acquired a quite run down boat and spent
the next six months restoring it to her previous glory. We have
enjoyed boat shows in WI and traveled to MT. Dora, FL for three
years for their show and the St. John’s River Cruise; which
is where this picture was taken in 2006. We have enjoyed meeting
new friends that share the love of wood boats and would encourage
anyone else with interest to join in; the ommoraderie is great!
